HLM Architects host first ‘A Conversation with DYW’ event

Leading design and architecture practice, HLM Architects, officially kicked-off a series of events entitled ‘A Conversation with DYW’ which aims to bring-to-life the benefits of developing young talent and building partnerships with schools and colleges in Glasgow.

The informal event held at HLM’s offices in Glasgow comprised talks from DYW Ambassador and HLM Architects Marketing Executive, Amy Ogilvy and Morag Pavich, Head of Engagement for Founders4Schools in the West of Scotland.

Following the talks, an active discussion was had with attendees to help them find out more about getting involved with DYW Glasgow, and also how to use the Founders4Schools platform.

Amy was also able to outline the productive partnership HLM Architects currently have with The Glasgow Gaelic School and the benefits they have reaped from this relationship. Working in the construction sector, HLM are often asked about how they engage with local communities. An event such as ‘A Conversation with DYW’ enables to them to help other companies explore the resources on their doorstep which can help build and developing their talent pipeline.

Amy Ogilvy said: “I was delighted to host the first ‘A Conversation with DYW’ event. The session was a great opportunity to inspire colleagues and talk specifically about our work with The Glasgow Gaelic School. It was great to use the opportunity to have Morag along to speak about the Founders4Schools platform. I am extremely passionate about inspiring the next generation about the world of work, and the Founders4Schools platform is a great place to start. I would encourage other employers to get involved in this events programme and discover more about DYW and the platforms they offer/work with.”

Alison McRae, Senior Director, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce said: “It was great to kick-off our first event with HLM Architects who are doing great work helping young people realise their potential. We would be delighted if other businesses would like to host similar events, to help build awareness of the many benefits for employers in nurturing and guiding the next generation of employees.”
