CCRS is a leading independent insurance broker committed to providing superior technical advice and service to business throughout the UK. Their Glasgow-based team have been providing professional broking services to a range of commercial clients for over ten years.

As an organisation within a key growth sector, CCRS is committed to developing the young workforce and providing opportunities within the Financial Services sector. Promoting and developing talent is encapsulated in the CCRS ethos.

Through the Santander Internship programme, CCRS has provided internship and work placement opportunities for several Undergraduate and Masters’ students within several areas of the business including HR, Software Development and Research. This allows young people to gain valuable work experience

CCRS have also provided opportunities for young people through Modern and Foundation Apprenticeships. This recruitment was made possible through the Glasgow Guarantee programme which supports businesses through their recruitment of young people. The apprenticeship programme has proved very successful for CCRS, with a number of apprentices continuing to work with the firm after completion of their apprenticeship.

CCRS recruited their first Foundation Apprentice in 2018. This was in conjunction with City of Glasgow College and they studied the Financial Services Framework. Feedback received from Safina Yasmin, Programme Leader, City of Glasgow College stated:

He thoroughly enjoyed his time during the placement, felt well looked after and learned several new skills and found the whole experience very valuable. He is on track to achieve 100% completion, thanks to your team and your kind self at CCRS.”

Following a successful pilot, another Foundation Apprentice will be starting with CCRS this month with a view of them progressing to a Modern Apprenticeship.

In recognition of it’s commitment to and focus on providing young people with employment and long-term development opportunities, CCRS have been awarded Investors in Young People Silver accreditation and are working towards achieving a Gold award by the end of 2019 and recruiting their first Graduate Apprentice in 2020.

Well done, CCRS!
