Pure Chuffed, a Young Enterprise Scotland company, has scooped the top prize for young entrepreneurs in Glasgow. At a presentation at Hampden Park in Glasgow, the company, formed by pupils from Lochend Community High School, won the overall award for the Best Company in the Glasgow regional finals of the Young Enterprise Scotland Company Programme. Pure Chuffed developed and produced a range of Glasgow themed jewellery and won the overall prize for best report, presentation and trade stand.
Presenting the Award, Geoff Leask, Chief Executive at Young Enterprise Scotland stressed that the standard was so high this year that the judges’ decision had been especially difficult.
Pure Chuffed now goes forward to the Scotland wide event on the 15 June, possibly leading to a place in the UK Finals in July. Other Young Enterprise companies taking part and winning awards included companies from Drumchapel High School and Shawlands Academy.
Presenting the Awards evening, Glasgow Local Area Team Chair Shonagh Macvicar said: “In just eight months these young entrepreneurs have built their own company, identified markets, created products and services, and sold them throughout Fife and beyond. Their products were innovative and imaginative. The company members were determined and resourceful. All who participated in the Company Programme are a credit to themselves and to Scotland”.
