Tuesday, 31 January 2017
2016/17 marks 15 years of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) supporting lifelong learning. Since its inception in late 2001, the SCQF has been helping people of all ages plan their learning journey.
To celebrate this milestone, the SCQF Partnership (SCQFP) hosted an evening reception at Scottish Parliament for Scottish Ministers, MSPs and stakeholders and supporters of the SCQF. The event was attended by 100 representatives from Scottish politics, education and business and speakers included Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP, SCQFP Chair, Rob Wallen, Amanda Allan, a learner from West College Scotland, and Raymond Perry, Headteacher at Braeview Academy in Dundee.
The event also featured the launch of a suite of new SCQF learner journey videos. These films showcase how the SCQF has helped four inspirational young Scottish women to navigate the education landscape to achieve their learning and life goals. Also premiered was a new infographic-style movie that focuses on how the SCQF can assist learners in planning their learning journey. All of the videos are now available to view on the SCQF website at http://scqf.org.uk/video_cats/my-learning-journey/.
